Why do I want to become a UX designer?
Ever since I was young, I was always curious as to why people are the way that they are. Why is my grandfather eccentric and vastly different from the general people? Why do people have different reactions given the same situation? Why do people tolerate inconveniences? I have been told that I think “too deeply,” which made me feel extraordinary—more nonsensical, actually. I have always thought that I asked too many random, silly and insignificant questions until I came across the field of UX design.
My natural inclination of curiosity for human psychology, which seemed peculiar and odd to others my whole life and even for myself, made perfect sense through the world of UX design—I felt heard and validated.
Understanding people’s complex and multifaceted minds intrigues me. I also love the idea of using empathy to understand user’s pain points and struggles (i.e., identifying existing problems) to ensure my design solutions are humanity-centered.
UX Design is a field that stimulates my mind—I am excited to become not just great, but a valuable UX designer who one day will dynamically shape people’s perspective of design and inspire them to appreciate its intelligence and beauty.
